QUILOMBO
Quilombo Series – Inspired by the 1984 film Quilimbo. Historically, ‘quilombo’ refers to communities formed by runaway slaves in Brazil — spaces of resistance, freedom, and cultural rebirth. In the film, warriors adorned themselves in blue paint as they prepared for battle. We took that visual language and made it our own, blending it with the Afrofuturist tones I’ve been exploring — past, present, and future colliding in a single vision
