Joey Silverman, a heavy, Jewish stoner. He leads a simple life, living with his parents, in the attic of a NYC community building while working at the local liquor store. When his boss discovers that Joey repeated his high school senior year twice and never received his GED, he fires him accordingly. Joey, believing that he did actually graduate, scrambles to find his GED only to be told by the vindictive high school dean that she never passed him even though he was at the graduation ceremony.
