TENDERHEADED is a collaborative series of portraits and photographs by creative director Margo Hannah and photographer Esdras T. Thelusma which explores the operation of the black gaze and the interplay between skin color and the divergence from the "American standard," and how these factors shape perception. Using large scale prints, TENDERHEADED celebrates the nonconformity inherent in black hairstyles, highlighting them as powerful modes of self-expression and individuality.
