MPB AI5 is an editorial project exploring Brazilian Popular Music as a form of resistance during the military dictatorship in Brazil. Bringing together a selection of songs that were censored during this period, the project looks at the ways musicians used coded lyrics, metaphor and popular music to challenge the regime — often at the risk of censorship, imprisonment or exile. An academic group project developed with Carolina Neto and Joana Condeço.
