Inspired by the classic Marvel heroine, Mystique, this project imagines a more intimate relationship with the character while also reflecting on the shapeshifters in reality. The subject is a close friend of mine whom I consider to be a prime example. Fluidity, confidence, adaptability and queerness are distinct characteristics of real shapeshifters—fearless virtuosos whose imaginations are their superpowers.
