Growing up in Tucson, Arizona, Marissa had always fantasized about New York City. It seemed like a magical place that only existed in movies and novels—conjuring grand, dizzying images of bright lights and unsurpassable skylines. Despite how much Marissa wanted to experience New York for herself, the city seemed unattainable. But, all that changed when she was given the chance to visit NYC on her high school EF Explore America tour.
