Bio
Elkin is a Montréal-born filmmaker, who has worked with leading brands and artists as director and photographer. He began his career producing skate videos featured in Canadian magazines and cinemas. After founding the film department at Vanity Fair Magazine under editor Graydon Carter, he launched Elkin Editions in 2017, creating independent short and long-form motion pictures. In 2021, his feature-length documentary, ‘All the Streets Are Silent’ (Hulu), premiered at Tribeca Film Festival, followed by a worldwide theatrical run, distributed by Greenwich Entertainment. Elkin won Best Documentary at The Webby Awards in 2015, and has been nominated for dozens of other festival categories including the American Film Festival, Hot Docs, the American Society of Magazine Editors, Society of Publication Designers, among others. His photographs and film work for Italian garment maker Stone Island were on display as part of their 2024 exhibition ‘Archive Works ‘982-’024’ in Los Angeles, CA. His work has been exhibited in MoMa, MoCA, Brooklyn Museum, Saatchi Gallery, OCMA, Serpentine Gallery, Perrotin and Guggenheim Museum.
