When her mother dies, Blanca has just turned forty. To escape her grief, she seeks refuge in sex—with lovers, ex-husbands, and any fleeting connection that helps her forget, even for a moment, that her mother is gone. Unable to put her life in order as an “orphaned” adult in the city, and almost as yet another form of escape, Blanca decides to travel to her mother’s house in the small fishing village of Cadaqués.
